The DTP Vaccine for Diphtheria Tetanus and Polio Vaccination

Protects you against Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio.

Diphtheria causes a nasty throat and tonsilar infection that can cause serious side effects in the un-immunised and when untreated.

Tetanus is a condition that is caused by bacterial contamination of skin wounds and scratches it can cause serious neurological problems in the un-immunized.

Polio is still present in the third world and can cause paralysis and serious problems in the un-immunised.

Most children are vaccinated with the DTP vaccine +Poilo jab

(in our practice over 90% of children now recieve a full course of 3 jabs).

However some adults are not protected and it may be advisable to make sure that your childhood vaccinations are up to date before you travel.

Our nurses will advise you to have this jab if you need it, if you are registered with our practice the jab will be free of charge if you are not registered with our practice you have the option of making an appointment with your own GP or paying a small charge to recieve the jab from us.
