Hepatitis B is an infectious disease caused by a virus that infects the liver it is spread by person to person contact by exposure to infectious blood or other bodily fluids.

It can cause a serious inflamation of and cirrhosis of the liver, the condition can even predispose you to liver cancer.

Avoiding exposure to blood or bodily fluids is the best protection,

Unprotected sexual activity needs to be avoided with infected persons.

Hepatitis B Vaccine is available but there needs to be a course of at least 3 injections and regular boosters at 5 yearly intervals.

A blood test is also advised to make sure that your immunity is sufficient after your initial course of 3 injections.
