The MMR Vaccine

Protects you against three serious conditions, Measles, Mumps and Rubella.

Measles can cause a serious life threatening infection,

Mumps can cause a nasty viral illness causing swelling of the sides of the face and

Rubella which can cause an unpleasant viral illness and birth abnormalities.

Most children are vaccinated with the MMR vaccine (in our practice over 90% of children now recieve a full course)

However some adults are not protected and it may be advisable to make sure that your childhood vaccinations are up to date before you travel.

Our nurses will advise you to have the MMR vaccine if you need it, if you are registered with our practice the jab will be free of charge if you are not registered with our practice you have the option of making an appointment with your own GP or paying a small charge to recieve the jab from us.
